Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as confirmed by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a reception ahead of the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

The royal pair were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a pre-COP30 gathering co-hosted by the UK government.

Climate Leadership Commitment

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be taking place in South America preceding the COP summit.

Official representatives have portrayed William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as stepping up an important role in "global climate discussions".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the state Bentley, were introduced to guests including conservation experts, researchers, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.

This participation involved presentations alongside President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other global statesmen at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco in recent months.

Environmental Prize Link

The climate conference will align with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will finish in the Brazilian city the eve of he attends the COP summit on November 6th.

Last week the royal figure characterized the award contenders as "contemporary champions".

Monarch's Environmental Record

The monarch has been a influential participant at previous climate summits, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".

"I have spent a significant amount of my life trying to raise awareness about the critical dangers confronting humanity over climate change, environmental shifts and biodiversity loss," the sovereign addressed attendees.
