Bondi Reveals Probe into Trump Adversaries and Epstein Ties

On Friday, the Attorney General assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to oversee an investigation into political adversaries of Donald Trump and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came just after Trump instructed her to initiate the investigation.

During an announcement, Bondi praised Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. The official added, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This action appears to contradict a July memo from federal authorities which stated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant additional investigations. As per the document, investigators “found no proof justifying probes into uncharged individuals”

Trump Demands Focus on Democrats in the Epstein Matter

This news coincides with growing demands from Trump on lawmakers to oppose the full release of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Several lawmakers are anticipated to support the release.

Recently released emails from Epstein have brought attention to the president’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.

That same day, Trump declared he would ask the DOJ to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “deception”.
